Donna Hendricksen Fiala is the founder and consultant for AQAC Consulting, LLC. Consulting Services focus on assuring quality and affordable care through operationalizing quality frameworks and methodology.
Donna obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt at the University of Georgia's Terry Executive Education Center and is in progress of obtaining a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. She completed Emory's Six Sigma for Healthcare Professionals course. Donna is also a certified Person Centered Thinking trainer.
Donna's passion is assisting long term care teams with optimizing operations and clinical services to yield strategic outcomes. She is interested in building effective quality management systems that utilize lean healthcare methodologies as part of a quality framework. She is adept at meeting and team facilitation. Donna is a dynamic speaker that engages individuals to expand and assimilate knowledge through thought provoking presentations.
For the past 15 years, Donna has held divisional and senior clinical operational roles in the long term care arena. As the Senior Vice President of Clinical Services for SavaSeniorCare, LLC, she was responsible for providing guidance and clinical operations support for approximately 22,000 licensed beds in 182 facilities across 19 states and approximately 23,000 employees. Donna led clinical teams to implement INTERACT (Interventions to Reduce Acute Care Transfers), to navigate changes in clinical reimbursement systems and to revise quality management systems to be regulatory compliant. She provided leadership for development of clinical education and competency programs to address disease management for readmission high risk populations. Donna also provided leadership for pharmaceutical services.
Early in Donna's career, she held a divisional director for home-based services role for a not-for-profit healthcare company. She successfully expanded home-based and early intervention services by 25% through grants and new service delivery models. Before the not-for-profit divisional role, Donna owned a rehabilitation consulting company providing therapeutic services in a variety of healthcare settings including acute care, home health, skilled nursing facilities and school systems. Nationally appointed three times to the AHCA's Clinical Practice Committee, Donna is currently a member of the committee as well as the End of Life Subcommittee.
Donna graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with a MS in Occupational Therapy with focus on Healthcare Administration and obtained a BS degree in Occupational Therapy from East Carolina University.
