Evonne Fillinger specializes in assisting teams in the post-acute arena to achieve exceptional clinical, regulatory, and systems outcomes. Her ability to communicate with staff in a clear, respectful style enhances facility teams through teaching, training, and mentoring in situational leadership, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
Evonne is well-versed in the long-term care environment holding positions ranging from staff nurse, to nurse manager in a 650 bed skilled nursing facility, and then to a nurse executive role. She has also worked as a nurse consultant and District Director of Clinical Operations. This vast experience has allowed her to achieve lasting quality outcomes.
As a nursing consultant, she traveled to multiple states working with skilled nursing facilities to implement sound clinical systems, restorative nursing programs, assess and improve coding of MDS’s, and achieve quality regulatory outcomes for her clients. Evonne is a national speaker and expert on differentiating wound types, wound prevention, and wound root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
As a District Director of Clinical Operations and a Chief Nursing Officer, Evonne was quickly recognized as having expertise in System Re-Implementation, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, and Regulatory Compliance. With these skills, Evonne assisted four facilities to be removed from CMS’s Special Focus list. While District Director of Clinical Operations, Evonne was chosen District Director of Operations of the year for a large healthcare company.
Evonne is a registered nurse. She earned a B.S.N. at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. She is certified in Wound Care. Evonne is passionate about wound prevention, leadership development, systems and quality improvement. She received specialized training in the MDS process, and has trained many interdisciplinary teams.
